Isaac had very bad arthritis and the weather in Montreal was very harsh on him. Zechariah sent Isaac to California for his health, and helped Isaac with acquiring the bakery that became Weitz Bros. Bakery. On a trip to visit his brother in the middle of winter, Zechariah decided that California was a much better place to live than Montreal.
Owned Weitz Bros. Bakery with brother Zacharia. At one point they had quite a few employees, and trucks for delivery of bakery goods. At some point, Zechariah broke off from this business and went into the produce business. He did well there selling to restaurants and stores. Again, they had trucks that delivered produce to neighborhoods as well.
