NOTE: Felix Shraga Feivish Birnbaum and his family sailed from Danzig/Gdansk and arrived in Montreal, and rented a flat next to the Rosen family, the only people knew in Montreal. Years later, Hymie Rosen became a pharmacist, like Dave, Joe and Stanley Birnbaum, and opened a pharmacy on Queen Mary Road, No one has been able to tell whether the Birnbaums knew or knew of the Rosen family from Galicia, or from contacts they had made during their voyage to Montreal.

The brothers purchased a second pharmacy, on Bernard Avenue, corner of Querbes, Outremont. They sold the pharmacy on Villeneuve Street, corner Querbes; the building is still there, and it is still a pharmacy, Shore's Pharmacy. The brothers opened a Birn's Pharmacy at Graham Boulevard, corner of Rockland Boulevard; on what is now a park, the Frankie Building having been torn down.
