Mrs. Roe was the Granddaughter of Andrew J. Crandall, one of the earliest settlers, who built the famous old hostelry for many years known as the Crandall House. Mrs.Roe was a talented writer, she was the author of many short stories. She wrote, Through the Narrows, Gates of Power. She was also a accomplished musician.
