THE HOUSTON DAILY POST - DECEMBER 19, 1897
ROE – Fort Worth, Texas. December 9. – J.G. Roe, a prominent business man of this city, died late last evening at the age of 70 years. He was one of the early settlers of Fort Worth and was prominently connected here. His son, Rev. W.C. Roe, was until recently pastor of a Presbyterian church at Dallas and also had a brother living at Dallas. Deceased was a brother to the novelist, E.P. Roe.
