Mrs. Ethel Lewis Barber of Cameron Mills, 46, died at 8:30am today in Bath Hospital where she had been ill since the latter part of August. She spent most of life in Cameron Mills, but had been living in Elmira for the past few years. In May, 1940 however, on the death of her stepmother she returned to Cameron Mills to make her home with her father, George H. Lewis.
She was born in the Town of Cameron Oct 14, 1894, her mother being the former Carrie Roe. Her schooling was at Cameron Mills and Northside High School. She was married Oct 29, 1920 to Oliver Barber.
Mrs. Barber was a niece of Mrs. J. H. Burley of 20 Elm St, Corning, Mrs Flora Gardiner of Riverside, Delbert Lewis of Cameron Mills and Edgar Lewis of 109 Jennings Street. Survivors also include several cousins.
The body is expected to be removed to the home of his father at Cameron Mills. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
