Margaret Poole Richards, age 96, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2010.
Margaret was born in Whitney, Idaho on June 7, 1914 to George Morgan and Kitty Dunkley Poole.
Margaret graduated from Utah State Agricultural College (now USU) with a teaching degree, and taught fourth to eighth grades in Whitney.
At college, Margaret met and fell in love with Franklin D. Richards. They were married in the Logan Temple on June 12, 1936 and enjoyed fifty-nine years of life together.
Margaret was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many leadership positions during her long life, including Church Hostess, and, along with her husband, an eight-year mission to the Salt Lake Laotian Branch.
Surviving Margaret are her four children: Donna Kay Carpenter (Jon), Salt Lake City; Suzanne Garff Glasmann, Potomac, MD; Franklin D. Richards (Cindy) Potomac, MD; and Willard R. Richards (Bertha), Salt Lake City; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gloris Goff.
Margaret's life, her example, and her loving way will bless the lives of her family eternally. We thank her for all she has done for us over the years and for her never-failing example of goodness and integrity.
Margaret's funeral will be held on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Capitol Hill LDS Chapel, 413 West Capitol Street, Salt Lake City. Family and friends are welcome for a viewing and greeting at the Church prior to the services from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Burial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Logan, UT, Cemetery.
