Henry Martyn Randall
NORTH POWNAL -- Henry M. Randall died Wednesday, July 29, 2004, of pneumonia. He died peacefully at home in the house he designed in the mountains, surrounded by his beloved wife and family. He leaves his wife Christine, six children and 11 grandchildren. His sons are Martyn and Paul Randall, Paul's wife Nancy Bueti Randall, daughters Megan Randall and husband Demcey Johnson, Margaret Randall Sperber and husband Rob Sperber, Honor Randall and Caitlin Randall Barnes and husband Bill Barnes. Beloved grandchildren are Emma, Giovanna, Jason, Beau, Jesse, Roxy, Honor, Owen, Zoe, Luke and Austin.
Henry Randall was an architect, graduate of RPI, and veteran of World War II. Henry was raised in Port Jefferson, N.Y., and worked at sea from the age of 17. He volunteered for the Merchant Marine and served five years in the Atlantic fleet supplying troops, often under heavy fire.
A passionate, engaged, larger-than-life man, Henry Randall leaves great emptiness behind. Funeral will be at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Bennington, on Monday, Aug. 2, at 2 p.m. Burial will take place at his home, reception to follow at Maggie and Rob Sperber's.
