Clarence V. Orton
NORTH OGDEN - Clarence Victor Orton, 81, 695 E. 2650 N., North Ogden, died Saturday in the McKay Hospital. He was born Aug 26, 1888, at North Ogden, a son of Joseph and Clara Barnett Orton. On Dec 8, 1909 he was married to Mable Randell in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He had been a farmer and a custodian. He was a member of the North Ogden 1st Ward and previously was chairman of the North Ogden Ward Scout committee, secretary of the high priest quorum, and was active in the Temple and genealogical work. He had been a ward and Sunday School teacher and served on this amusement committee of the ward.
Surviving are his widow, two sons and three daughters, Eldon V. Orton, North Ogden; C. Max Orton, Atascadeso, Calif.; Mrs. George (Allene) Atkinson, Yakima, Wash.; Mrs. H. Clair (Nona Jean) Searle, North Los Angeles, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; 15 great - grandchildren; one brother, two sisters, Delbert Orton, Blackfoot, Idaho; Mrs. James (Virture) Speckman, North Ogden, and Mrs. Parley (Ellen) Chambers, Ogden.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the North Ogden, 1st Ward Chapel, with Bishop Calvin Heiner officiating. Friends may call at the Myers Mortuary Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday at the ward chapel one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the North Ogden Cemetery.
