ALFRED A. KOFOED
Alfred A. Kofoed, 72, of 353 Thirteenth, died at two-thirty a.m. today at the family residence of ailments incident to age.
He was born June 13, 1870, in Weston, Ida., a son of Hans A. andThora Anderson Kofoed. He resided there until 1896, when he fulfilled an L.D.S. mission to the Samoan islands. On his return, he married Lucy Randall in Salt Lake L.D.S. temple, on Oct. 11, 1898.
The couple lived in North Ogden until 1916, and he did extensive stone cutting on Brigham Young college in Logan, the Richmond tabernacle and the Oneida academy in Preston, Ida. He ran a farm in Lava Hot Springs, Ida., from 1916 to 1937, when he retired and they moved to Ogden.
A devout member of the L.D.S. church, Mr. Kofoed was in the high priests of the Farr West stake, and was an active priesthood worker in Mount Fort ward.
In North Ogden, he was secretary of the 38th quorum of seventy, and during his residence at Lava Hot Springs was a Sunday school teacher, a bishop's counselor and ward clerk in the Topaz ward.
He is survived by his widow and the following sons and daughters: Harold A. Kofoed of North Hollywood, Cal., Private Paul R. Kofoed of the U.S. army; Lucile H. Kofoed, Rulon H. Kofoed and Mrs. Boyd Berrett, all of Ogden; three grandchildren, and two brothers John A. Kofoed of Preston, Ida., and Orson Kofoed of Clifton, Ida.
