Obituary
Kier, Virginia (Hodge), 80, passed away on Wednesday, July 25. Born in Fayette County, Ohio on Nov. 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Rollo and Georgia Willa Hodge.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth, her three loving daughters, Willa Kier Douthette of Albuquerque, NM, Lisa Cleavinger of LaJolla, Calif., Jeri Killian of St. Cloud, Fla., her granddaughter, Caroline Cleavinger, and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Roma and Joe Mercer of Sabina, Ohio.

Virginia was a lifelong educator and chairman of the Business Department of Beavercreek High School for 16 years. In 1983, she was selected as Teacher of the Year for the Beavercreek School System. A talented seamstress and quilter, Virginia belonged to the Miami Valley Quilter's Guild as well as the Venice Florida Quilt Guild. She was also a member of the ADK Teacher's Sorority.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to noon with the funeral service to be held at noon a Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd., at Grange Hall. A committal service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Mowrystown Cemetery in Mowrystown, Ohio. The Rev. Donald Shurts of Gracepoint Church will officiate.
