Obituary
Robert B. Brashier, son of Robert and Roberta Brashier, was born December 15, 1919, at Orange, Tex., and died April 4, 1990, at Mount Joseph Care Home in Concordia, at the age of 70 years, three months and 19 days. He was a longtime resident of Courtland. He graduated from high school in Houston, Tex., and enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942, stationed at Ellington Field, Tex. After a tour of duty in Africa he was stationed in New Mexico and Nebraska. He remained in the reserves until 1948. On August 28, 1944, he married Ida Jean Kier in Courtland, and to this union six children, were born. He managed the Co-op Elevator in Courtland in the early 1950s and continued in farm-related areas. He retired in 1980 as a federal grain inspector on the Gulf of Mexico. Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant sister, Lurlene. He is survived by his children: Mrs. Donald (Dawn) Bellamy of Courtland, Robert Brashier of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. Gary (Jeannie) Tow of Omaha, Nebr., Ed Brashier of Athton, Idaho, Tom Brashier of Newalla, Okla., Mrs. James (Roberta) Hoard of Omaha, Nebr., 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loyce Daniels and Jewell Koinm, both of Houston, Tex. Interment was in Courtland Cemetery.
