MERVIN - Ranch Kier Mervin died at his home in Enid Oklhoma after two weeks of serious sickness. He was sixty-seven years of age, born on September 6, 1864 near Albany, Missouri; and died December 17, 1931.
He was married to Sadie Grace Goss, January 6, 1895. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Fred Kaupke, who with his wife and three brothers and three sisters are left to mourn their loss.
Brother Mervin with his wife was baptized into the third angel's message the year they were married. Since that time he has been very faithful in living the truth and doing what he could to advance the cause. His life of missionary deeds has been an example of the zeal that ought to be manifested by every Adventist. Though he was an invalid for the last twelve years, yet he suffered without complaint and continued to do all he could to give this truth to others by means of literature.
He fell asleep in Christ with that blessed hope of having part in the first resuurection. One of his last requests was that money be not wasted on flowers and other things for his funeral but that the means be given to the poor and to advance God's cause.
He had many friends and the funeral home was filled with those who came to pay their last respects to him. He now awaits the call of his Master as he rests in the Enid cemetery.
