Married: (1) Susanna Fritz 1862 in Saltsburg, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
(2) Clara Frances Irwin 1882 in Conemaugh Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

He is buried beside his son from his first marriage Harry F. KIER (1863-1936) and his second wife Clara F. KIER (1853-1936). About twenty feet behind him is the modern gray granite gravestone of his son from his second marriage Thomas Rhea KIER (1890-1965) and Ruth E. (WHITE) KIER (1905-1995).
