Married: Joel Johnson in 1886 in Yates Center, Woodson County, Kansas.
Daughter of Scotch Irish James Harvey Kier and Matilda Belle Meservey (great great granddaughter of New Hampshire pioneer Clement Meservey). Ella married Joel Johnson of Yates Center, KS in 1886. Ella and Joel had 8 children and moved to Okemah, OK about 1902 and opened a hotel and furniture store. In 1909, her husband was bitten by a copperhead snake behind the hotel and died. Ella sold the business in Okemah and moved to Clinton Street (renamed 23rd West Ave) in West Tulsa about 1913. In West Tulsa she ran a boarding house until her death.
