Obituary
Boyd was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa on Jan 22, 1928, to Early Hardan (John) and Rosa Ellen (Record) DeWitt. He was raised in the Western states, living in Nevada and Wyoming. He joined the Army and served for two years just prior to the Korean Conflict.
On December 12, 1953, he married Lois Jean Mills in Billings, Montana.
He began a lifelong career in heavy construction as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He worked on road construction jobs; in the Gas Hills as an equipment operator in the uranium mines; and for power line construction in the Western states.
In 1971, he moved to Joliet, Montana, where he owned and operated his own mechanic shop. In 1977, the family moved to Edgerton, where he worked for Campbell Oilfield Construction for a couple of years. He than started his own mechanic shop known as Junction Truck and Tire in Midwest, and ran it for three years before retiring.
He liked to hunt and fish, read outdoor magazines, visit with family, and take photos of wildlife.
Survivors include three sons, Emery B. DeWitt of Moorcroft, Everett DeWitt and his wife of Midwest and Gary DeWitt of Basin; one brother E.H. Babs DeWitt of Grover; one sister Ann Manley of Round Mountain Nevada; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son Gregg DeWitt; three brothers, John (Elton), Jack and Chuck DeWitt; and five sisters, Winnie, Smokey Delores, and twin infant sisters.
