Irving Goodman; Big Band Trumpeter

Irving Goodman, a trumpet player featured in his brother Benny's band for many years, died Saturday of a heart attack in a Tarzana hospital.
He was 76 and had lived in the San Fernando Valley for more than 40 years.
Born in Chicago, where he received his musical training, he began in the Big Band business in the mid-1930s. He performed with Bunny Berrigan, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Alvino Rey and Charlie Barnett, in addition to his brother, who died in 1986.
