Gravestone Translation
Here [lies] buried / my husband, our father and grandfather, dearest / a man God-fearing, his [religious] commandments [mitzvos/mitzvot] he desired greatly [to keep] / loved peace and strove for peace and [was] beloved by fellow-man / honored the Lord with his wealth and 'from his throat' [i.e. religious devotion] / pleasant and affable was he, and dedicated with all his heart / he left a blessed legacy – a praiseworthy generation of upstanding people. He was Reb Binyamin son of Shimshin, peace be upon him / died 4th [day] of Chol ha'Moed Sukkot, 20th Tishrei 5760 / mourned by his wife, son, daughters, in-laws and grandchildren / may his soul be bound in the bond of [eternal] life.
(Note: I don't think ????? is in error here. It represents a desire to convey the way his formal name ????? Shimshon was [and is] often pronounced – Shimshin, even Shimshn, with an almost-imperceptible vowel linking the shin and final nun at the end. I have translated ?????? as inscribed as 'in-laws' – but I suspect this is a spelling error for ?????, 'sons-in-law'.
