OBITUARY
Ruby Elizabeth Stiefel
age 85, a resident of Canterbury Villa in Alliance, Ohio, passed away and was escorted by angels to her heavenly home Christmas morning. She was born April 24, 1925 to Paul and Ressie (Blosser) Buckwalter in Upland, Calif. Ruby graduated from Beulah College in California, then moved to Ohio to attend Aultman School of Nursing. She completed her nursing studies and residence at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Va. She met and married her husband, Rolland and after living a short while in Canton, Ohio, they moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., where they resided until Rolland's death after nearly 40 years together. They were active members of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Pittsburgh where Ruby was involved in children's ministries. She took great joy in entertaining and hosted vast numbers of guests in her home over the years including family, friends and missionaries. Ruby and Rolland traveled extensively during their married life including trips to Russia, Israel, Egypt, Mexico, Canada and every state in the Union including Alaska and Hawaii. Following Rolland's death, Ruby moved back to Ohio and attended Valley Chapel Church in East Canton and was active in children's teaching ministries. Ruby will be most remembered for her joy of living, laughter, generosity and love for her fellow man, especially children, and her strong Christian faith.

Ruby was preceded in death by husband, Rolland in 1992; an infant sister, Ruth; her parents, Paul and Ressie; and brothers, David and Erlis. She is survived by her sister, Leah Massolini of Louisville, Ohio; foster daughter, Merna Latimer of Pittsburgh, Pa.; sister-in-law, Loa Buckwalter of New Mexico; and a host of nieces and nephews who adored her.

A private family burial will be in the Midway Mennonite Cemetery, Columbiana, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
