BENKELMAN -- Laberta Lee Kier, 77, died Thursday (Aug. 28, 2008) at Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman.

She was born Sept. 6, 1930, on the Brown family homestead to Albert and Thelma Brown. She was raised in Colorado.

On Sept. 12, 1948, she married Richard Lee Kier.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Cleo.

Survivors include her children, Kenneth and wife, Shirley of Sheridan, Ariz., Herbert of Larned, Kan., Robert and wife, Karen of Hershey and Judy of Benkelman; two sisters, Arlene Jenson of Independence, Kan., and Waunita Herron of Battle Ground, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services are Saturday, 2 p.m., at Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home in Wray, Colo., with the Rev. Ed Bollack officiating. Interment will be at the Yuma Cemetery in Yuma, Colo.
