Funeral services for Doris Elaine Griffin, 76, of Branson, formerly of Coal City, Ill., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 30, 2009, at Forsyth Whelchel Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 29, 2009, at the funeral home.

She died Dec, 24, 2009 at her residence.

She was born Jan 24, 1933, in Kansas City, Kansas daughter of Lewis and Thelma Hufford. In 1976 she married Donald Lee Griffin in Newcomerstown, Ohio, then in 1982 moved to Branson from Coal City, Ill.

She was president of the Lake Taneycomo Woods Association, and served on the board of directors for thirteen years, having held every office.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister Wanda Lee Hufford.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Lee Griffin, of the home; daughter Karen Elaine Negangard and husband John, of Brookville, Ind.;son Michael Edward Wade of Pendelton, Ind.; sister Darlyne Louise Wyatt and husband Edwin, of Osawatome, Kansas, brothers Jon Pountain and wife Susan, of Huntsville, Ala, and Don Pountain, of Pacific Grove, Calif.; sister-in-law Cheryle and husband Sheldon Fletcher, of Texas; five grandchildren; and four great-grand-children.
