Joseph V Bentley was a Holocaust survivor, philanthropist, banker and past president of the Guardian's for the Jewish Homes for the Aging. Joseph passed away Friday, August 12, 2011 at his home, after suffering a long illness. Born on January 21, 1924 in Belgium, he was 87 years old. After surviving the Nazi occupation, he found his way to the United States. After establishing himself as a highly respected banker, he found and married the love of his life Barbara F Bentley, was happily married for 33 years and in death are together again. His son Norman and family Judith, Art, Richard, Justin, Asher and Jennifer, survive him. Services at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 Centinela Ave, Los Angeles, Monday, August 15, 2011 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Joseph and Barbara Factor Bentley Fellowship in Renal Transplantation, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
