Married: Frances Rachel Stratton September 7, 1935 in Salem, Columbiana County, Ohio.

Frances Rachel Stratton is the sister of Alice Sylvania Stratton who married Russell's cousin Marion Albert Emmons.

A 1930 fund-raising appeal from Scattergood Friends School states that "Russell Emmons, a junior at Penn College, is Vice-President of the Y. M. C. A. and recently won first in the State Peace contest with an oration entitled, 'The War Lord's Sales Campaign.'"

The Olney Current for Eleventh Month, 1940, reported that "Russell ['24] and Frances (Stratton) '22 Emmons have moved from Berea, Ohio to 3032 Robert Street in New Orleans, La. Russell was transferred from the Cleveland plant of the Glidden Paint Company and is now superintendent of the plant in New Orleans."

One year later, the same publication reported "Russell ['24] and Frances (Stratton) '22 Emmons have recently moved form New Orlaens [sic] to Metaire, Louisiana. Frances, accompanied by her two children, Bobby and Catharyn, visited her parents, Edward and Clara Stratton this summer."

In Eleventh Month, 1942, the report was "Russel ['24] and Frances (Stratton) '22 Emmons have moved from New Orleans, La., to the old Francis Walton home in Moylan, Pa., which is their present address. Russell is employed by the Philadelphia Quartz company. They are happy to be living in the North again."

In the Fourth Month 1948 issue, it is said: "Russell J. Emmons recently underwent an operation on his nose. When a boy his nose was broken twice and the operation was for the removal of some bone that prevented proper breathing."

The issue for Seventh Month 1949 reported: "Between 1934 and 1931 Russell J. Emmons did farming, attended Penn College and taught two years at Olney. He then spent two years at the University of Cincinnati graduate school doing work in chemical engineering. He taught another year at Olney, the after a years work at Ohio State University he received the degree of Master of of Science in Chemical Engineering. In 1936 he and Frances R. Stratton '22 were married at Salem, Ohio. Russell worked for five years as a chemist, paint researcher, and assistant to the superintendent at the Glidden Company, Cleveland. 1940 to 1942 he was Superintendent of the Glidden Paint Plant in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1942 he was transferred to the Philadelphia Quartz Company where he has done chiefly personnel and engineering work, and Insdustrial Relations Manager handiling union negotiation problems. Russell and Frances Emmons have two children and live in Wallingford, Pa."
