Obituary:
[Died], on the 12th of 4th mo. 1876, MARY, wife of Thomas Emmons, in the 65th year of her age, a member of Coal Creek Monthly Meeting, Iowa, During her last illness she said "I have sought earnestly and prayed the dear Master to save my poor soul and prepare a place for me, and I believe He will. I can see nothing in my way, and if there is I believe it will be shown me. My afflictions have been a mercy to me, to stain the pleasures of this fading world, and wean me from it. Oh what a glorious change from this world to the mansions of peace." She passed away without a sigh or struggle, leaving the comforting assurance that she has gone to everlasting rest.
